If joining a meeting from a Windows PC, the Zoom client will automagically download and attempt to install. For those using Linux, you can download the free (not Free) Zoom client from this page. It’s available for a variety of distributions.

For those attending in person, we will most likely adjourn to Milano’s afterward for food and socializing.

Presentations/Topics:

Ollama is an open-source tool that allows you to run large language models (LLMs) directly on your local machine. This makes it ideal for those who prioritize data control and privacy. By running models locally, you maintain full data ownership and avoid the potential security risks associated with cloud storage. Offline AI tools like Ollama also help reduce latency and reliance on external servers, making them faster and more reliable.

Rick Wills will demonstrate some of his experimentation with Ollama on a laptop computer – and maybe even on a Raspberry Pi!

We’ll also talk about our booth at TechFest last weekend, and the upcoming Installfest on March 7th.

As always, we’ll also have discussion time for Linux and Open Source news, projects you’re working on, and questions for the rest of the group.
