Presentations/Topics:

There are many open source tools available for turning raw data into meaningful reports, dashboards, and business insights — from familiar spreadsheet techniques to full-featured online analytics platforms. At this meeting, Ben Kendrick will present an overview of several categories of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and demonstrate practical examples of each.

The session will explore spreadsheet-based analysis using LibreOffice Calc and Base, pixel-perfect reporting with Jaspersoft Studio, database management with DBeaver, and web-based BI platforms such as Metabase, along with discussion of other open source options. Whether you are managing business data, building reports, or just curious about the current state of open source BI software, this presentation will provide a useful introduction and hands-on demonstrations of tools that can help make sense of your data.

As always, we’ll also have discussion time for Linux and Open Source news, projects you’re working on, and questions for the rest of the group.
